Christina Rossetti's poems are delightful. The last (5th) stanza of the poem, In the Bleak Midwinter, has been put to music and is frequently used in childrens books for the holiday season. It's a wonderful sentiment..."What can I give Him,
Poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd
I would bring a lamb,
If I were a wise man,
I would do my part,
Yet what I can give Him,
Give my heart."
Figuring out how I might "give my heart" is a good reflective exercise!
