We took Emily to the Los Gatos Annual Fantasy Faire. She thought seeing a full size Elmo was a treat and she loved the Bouncy House but the biggest hit of the day was the Petting Zoo! And, it seems, Emily's biggest fantasy!
Once Emily paid her 3 tickets for free reign of the animals she was unstoppable! She was hoisting the chickens into her arms and carrying them around. Emily marched right into the baby goats butting their heads into each other. There was No Fear! Emily was in charge and she was calling the shots!
There was a brush hooked to the fence that Emily helped herself to and proceeded to comb the hair of every animal that couldn't get away from her fast enough. A very tired bunny got a full massage!
The adorable baby pig pictured at left was brushed after Emily actually picked him up! The Petting Zoo Personal saw Emily's determination to take charge and kept a close eye on her (note the boots in the photo, those are not mine).
Emily would have stayed all day! She was definitely in her element! I'm seeing a future Veterinarian perhaps! Of course when we took Emily home, Jennifer, spoken like a true urban Mom, wanted to know if she had "washed her hands" after the adventure! Ha!
And in honor of the cute pig (well, I guess it's a bit of a slam), one of Ogden Nash's animal poems:
"The Pig, if I am not mistaken,
Gives us ham and pork and Bacon.
Let others think his heart if big,
I think it stupid of the Pig!"
