Provo, Utah claims their Stadium of Fire event in the Lavell Edwards Stadium is the largest 4th of July celebration in the country. I'm not sure if they mean "largest" as in # of people who attend or # of fireworks, etc. But whether it is actually the largest or not; they do know how to put on a great family show! There were probably over 40,000 people and we saw great perfomances from SHeDAISY (picture Dixie Chicks as Mormon girls - I hadn't heard of them and they were good!) and the 3 handsome Jonas Brothers (okay, Paige says they don't do anything for her but I think the youngest one - Nick - is adorable!) The Jonas Brothers are youngsters but they know how to perform!
The fireworks show was over the top too! I didn't think Glenn Beck as the MC was all that good (and I'm a Glenn Beck fan even if Webb thinks he is melodramatic).
Maybe the Stadium of Fire event was a little like a movie that don't have high expectations for and then it turns out much better than you anticipated. It was a evening with good karma right up to the end when we escaped the after-event-car-gridlock since Brent knew the right place to put the car for a quick getaway. Just an additional perk of being married to a Provo boy who knows the town!
