A Basket Full of Blessings!

Oops! I was taking down the Thanksgiving Decorations and realized we hadn't read through our Blessings Basket! A few years ago I started setting out a basket (with pen & paper) right next to our Pilgrim & Indian decor hoping that family and friends would list things they are grateful for and add them to our basket of blessings.

Since we ate Thanksgiving dinner at the Hollands this year we forgot the traditional reading. None of us will ever forget the year TJ Hunter wrote that he was grateful for "Implants" and when Grandpa read it he thought TJ was talking about breast implants forgetting about TJ's Cochlear Implant! We laughed about that the rest of their visit!

Well, here is a sampling of some Blessings that were left by visitors who were kind enough to put something in our basket:
"I am thankful for the Knudsen family: their humor, generosity, and goodness. I am thankful for trees and trails, mountains and sea. I am thankful for babies, laughter, cars, telephones, chocolate, fruit, good books, and sunshine."

"I am thankful for the blessing of coming to this house full of adventures and love, always yummy food and fanciful decorations."

"I am thankful for challenges to make us strong."

So, the basket is put away until next fall season but hopefully we can still be mindful daily of how richly blessed we are! And, of course, for Implants too! (good one TJ!)
